T.A. French was the builder of our home in New Braunfels, Texas, and every day we thank our lucky stars! Troy and his team are TERRIFIC to work with, from the initial “meet and greet” you have with a building liaison, through the design process and the construction with your assigned foreman. Reputation and customer service are huge factors in selecting a builder — you better feel comfortable in the preliminary meeting! We built while living in another state so trust was enormous for us since we wouldn’t observe the construction process.

The house turned out beautiful! It’s tight and well made. I walked through during some of the construction phases and brought knowledge buddies with me, and they were impressed with what they saw.

But here is the deal sealer: what is the builder like after you move in and have issues? I have heard numerous horror stories from neighbors who went with other builders about their attempts to get problems addressed or “punch out” lists completed. We moved in with a few punch list items left and our project manager got those items completed to our satisfaction. Any small issues we found we just called the office and they got the appropriate person out to handle it in a timely manner.

I have had numerous conversations with neighbors in our development who have said, “If I could do it all again, I would go with TA French.”

“We built our home shortly after COVID and the subsequent upheaval of the country. Labor shortages, manufacturing issues and material shortages were all a challenge. Despite all of these challenges, TA French built and delivered an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL RETIREMENT DREAM HOME for us.

Our sales lead, Amy, was patient, responsive and very knowledgeable. Our decorator, Michelle, was creative, candid and was a great listener. Our project manager, David, had vast experience, was detail oriented and was determined to deliver the home WE wanted. The VP of Operations, Amber, was open, honest, transparent and our champion when dealing with subcontractors. Owner, Troy French, was available, insightful and committed to delivering the product WE imagined.

Throughout the process the team asked many questions to understand OUR concepts and ideas, they listened to meet our needs, they were very open to addressing concerns along the way, they mentored and guided us to avoid pitfalls and to find potential work arounds.

Building a custom home is a labor of love. At times, more labor than love, yet, if you stay focused on the end result and not the challenges of the process, a beautiful custom home is waiting for you and that is what TA French delivered to us, a beautiful custom home at the right price.

We have now been in our home 18 months and TA French is STILL very responsive when we call them. Actions speak louder than words and their attention to customer service is demonstrated at all levels. At TA French, customer service is not just a motto in a brochure or hanging on a wall.

“After visiting with a few builders we settled on T.A French to build a home on our lot in Vintage Oaks. We felt really good about it because they had built our friend’s home and we saw the quality. You will get very high quality materials and craftsmen if you go with T.A. French. It makes a difference!

Our architect was amazing to work with and even took some of my hand sketches and brought them to life! We wanted a smaller home (2,500 square feet), that was designed around the way we live. We could not be happier with our floor plan and how it matches and optimizes our daily routines. It looks like a much bigger house than it is!

Our decorator was able to quickly figure out what we love in materials and colors and guided us to a beautiful final product. I would periodically get nervous about my choices but she felt confident in what we had chosen, and it came together beautifully.

Our stone masons did a beautiful job, both inside and out. I look at other homes when I am walking and I see the difference. Our cabinetry is beautiful. One of things I have most amazed by are the trim carpenters they used. They build and install the window casings, crown moulding, baseboards, closet organization, etc. We absolutely love their work! Our cased windows and doors are beautiful. I also love our tile flooring and the company they use gave me beautiful selections at a good price. I didn’t think we could afford to tile the entire house but they made it happen and it is gorgeous. The tile showers and tile backsplash in the kitchen are lovely as well. I know there is so much more that was done, but those things popped into my head. You will not be disappointed if you go with T.A. French!”

“After interviewing a number of builders, we decided to select TA French. I can honestly say it was a great choice. From the initial design process where we talked through our desires with the architect (who came up with an awesome plan) to the finished house, TA French listened to us and implemented everything we wanted.

We gave them a budget to work with and wanted a turnkey house that included an in-ground pool and landscaping — and our house stayed on budget even with the pool and landscaping included. We were able to make all of the selections for the entire house in three days — a great practice on TA French’s part as everything was tied together, I didn’t have to worry about remembering what selections I made for plumbing or floors because everything was done at the same time. I also feel that doing the selections at the same time reduced changes — helping to stay on budget.

Since we were unable to be in Texas for the build process, we relied on our custom home consultant to take pictures and keep us updated on the building of our home. We made a total of three trips during the entire process. When we did the final walk through, we had an amazing house with everything we wanted.

On another important note, if you have any warranty issues, I have found that TA French does an excellent job with follow up and they stand by their warranty and their product. If you are considering building and have the option of using TA French, I would highly recommend them.”

“Over the years we have had many homes built, but none compared to the quality workmanship that Troy French and his team delivered and completed in the time frame promised.

During the construction period we dealt with line people and back office employees. Jennifer, who guides you through all the upfront work of plans, deco, and other related items, was very knowledgeable and a joy with whom to work. All the outside vendors that she brought in were top notch. Amber and the team administratively were always there when you needed a question answered.
